Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a lovely and relaxing weekend. The kids had Wednesday off, Troy worked all day and I only worked half day. I left the kids with plenty of things to do so they would not be bored or get into trouble. I love having Alison being able to babysit the boys and she has done a great job at it.

Monday - Alison gave FHE and she talked about gratitude. Eric chose the song and we sang a Thanksgiving song that follows ;

Turkey dinner, turkey dinner,
Gather round, gather round,
Who will get the drumsticks?
Yummy, yummy drumsticks?
Let's sit down, let's sit down.

Mashed potatoes, rolls and gravy,
pumpkin pie, one foot high.
All of us were thinner,
'Till we came to dinner,
Me, Oh my!! Me, oh my!!

Tuesday - Was the kids last day of school for the week. The kids did all their homework so they would have a free weekend.

Wednesday - I was able to assist on an eye lift surgery and let me tell you, that was really cool. I must also say that I don't think I would like to have one myself in the near future, but if it is needed... than who knows!

Thursday - Eric came into my room at 6:00 AM and asked me if he could open his birthday gifts, because you know it was his birthday already, no time wasted there. I even wonder if he slept at all. We than had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Than we had to open gifts because I don't think I could have put it off any longer. Troy brought some work home so that he could put a bid together and spend time with us. We were able to cook dinner very slowly, one thing at a time and had a rather lazy day. I made turkey breast, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, fresh green beans and rolls for dinner. We had the best carrot cake ever to sing Happy birthday to Eric and we can't forget Troy's famous Trifle YUM, YUM!!! Troy had to buy a coconut cream pie, because as much as he has tried he can not make one.

Friday - We finished shopping for the kids Christmas and that was very effective we were in and out of the store in a record 42 minutes on a Black Friday - WOW That was amazing!! We found all the things we needed and they were all on sale! Troy went to help his friend, who is building his own office building and he spent the rest of the day there. I went over for dinner and we watched a movie afterwards. We had a ball. We really enjoyed spending time with them.

Saturday - Troy promised that we would sleep in but to no avail. He woke up bright and early because his heels were hurting and he couldn't sleep. We went to his office so he could gather some other things to work at home. Again, the day was quite lazy. We were able to watch movies and relax.

Sunday - I finally slept in I woke up at 8:45 AM, amazing. We didn't do much again.

Wow I know that sounds like a really boring weekend, but we all needed some well deserved rest. I am glad we were able to get it.

Hope you all had a fabulous and stress free weekend.
