Christmas Card - 2008

We decided that this year I would post our Christmas card, so here it is...
We have had quite the busy year ourselves, full of laughter, love, and trials.

Troy - He had two callings in the Ward, Sunday School President and Cub Master. He was just barely released from Sunday School. He is the biggest goof ball of them all in Cub Scouts. He dresses the part and has so much fun with it. I know that it sounds childish and all but those boys love it and look forward to Pack Meetings to see what he is dressed like.
It is a bit "slow" at work at this time, they are bidding every job available and so is everyone else in the valley and that makes it hard to get some of the jobs. We have been fasting and praying that they will get busy pretty soon.

Claudia - I broke my leg in four places and tore three ligaments in January while rollerskating with my kids. I though I was 12 again and could do such things. I had forgotten that the older I have gotten, the clumsier I've gotten. I did not last two minutes on the roller skates, and I have had three surgeries to repair the damage. So from now on I think I'll be on the sidelines cheering them on and taking pictures. This has been a very long recovery, and I hope I am almost there.
I have started a new job as a surgical assistant for an oral and maxilofacial surgeon. He has been training me and it has been awesome. Sometimes I just can't seem to stop talking about how much I enjoy working for Dr. Barton.
I am still a second Counselor for Primary and I enjoy it until it is time for the Primary Program and that kind of stresses me out because I have to write all the parts for the program.

Alison - She is in 6th Grade and just turned 11 in November. She is still playing the violin and has improved quite a bit. She has an Orchestra class in school and has loved it very much. She started basketball and even though she inherited coordination from her mother, she enjoys the exercises and the social aspect of it. She has some concerts coming up and choir presentations also.

Tyler - He is in 4th grade and he loves his new school. He is a Bear in Cub Scouts and loves having daddy for a Cub master. He is starting basketball today Dec 10th and he is very excited about it. He has developed some good friends in school that have included him in football and basketball games. He is not very musical, but he loves rock climbing and now playing some sports. When he first started playing with his friends he checked out some books on football rules and studied them, there were this one Saturday that I had to go do some shopping and Troy was watching a game on TV, Tyler would not come with me because he wanted to watch the game so he could learn. Troy said later that after 5 minutes into the game, Tyler asked if they could watch something else. It was quite funny. He still loves playing, and he told Eric that they had to get used to watching it on TV because that is what we were going to be doing when he was a famous football player.
He loves writing and drawing comics. The funniest ones are the ones that relate to him the best, and when he is not trying too hard.
Tyler will be doing some ice skating and cross country skiing at school as soon as we have enough snow and cold weather.

Eric - He is a Kindergartner now and acts likewise. He sings school songs and rhymes ALL THE TIME. He loves his teacher and he is trying to be a good boy in school. he also loves rock climbing once he lost the fear of height and trusted that we would not drop him. he was very excited about becoming a 6 year old. He has some good friends in school, and he loves the little rock climbing wall they have at school.
If it ever gets cold enough this year the school will have an ice skating ring in the playground and he is looking forward to it because he wants to learn how to ice skate.

I can not count our blessings this year since we've had so many, but I want you to know that we are grateful for every single one of you, for your prayers, service, love and support. We hope your will have an amazing Christmas Season. The best gift of them all - the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, that through Him and only Him can we return to the presence of our Father in Heaven and have eternal life. Everything else is the commercialism we have created. Count your many blessings and see what God has done for you individually.

It is our wish for this season - Merry Christmas to all and a Most Happy and Prosperous New Year!!!
